What does it look like to get started?

  • After contacting our ABA agency and providing all of your paperwork, you will either be added to a waitlist or start the intake process. The entire process can take anywhere from 2 weeks to a year. The office manager will periodically check in.

  • The intake screener will be sent via email to families. This helps determine if insurance is accepted, what availability families need, and gives an opportunity for families to express concerns and goals for their child.

  • Once we verify we are in network with the insurance, we will send out the full application. Please provide the front and back of insurance card, autism diagnosis, and any other documents that are helpful to gather information. Once all documents are received, a spot on the waitlist will be secured.

  • Once the insurance company has approved services, Become BEST will reach out to schedule a parent intake interview. Families will be assigned a BCBA. At this intake appointment, the family and the team will work together to create a schedule that could range from 10-40 hours per week.

  • Once the services begin, our team will focus on getting to know your child, collecting data, and implementing their prescribed treatment plan. ABA will look different for every individual. BCBAs will sometimes join sessions and provide training to the families, as the caregivers. Family involvement is important throughout the process. We encourage to share concerns and questions at any time.

The Assessment Process

Step One.

This is where caregivers can expect to meet in person with the BCBA to set a schedule, discuss questions the BCBA may have regarding their child, and begin to cultivate a positive and trusting relationship.

Step Two.

At this point, we will focus on an assessment located at our clinic with your child depending on their needs and what we as a team feel necessary for their individualized treatment goals.

Step Three.

Lastly, before we dive into treatment with your child, we will schedule a meeting to discuss the results of the assessment, what to expect for treatment, and welcome you with your new caregiver packet!

The Treatment Process.

  • Based on what the caregivers feel is most important and what assessment results show, together we will create and set goals to address the areas of need.

  • All of the programs we run will align with your child’s goals and will be easily accessible to you as a caregiver, allowing you to view & track your child’s current data & progress.

  • Your involvement as a caregiver is one of the most important tools to help teach important strategies and information to be consistent at home and in the clinic.

  • If your child meets discharge requirements, our team will coordinate with other providers as this is within our ethical practice. If your child’s treatment does not satisfy goals, a transition plan will be set in place.
